Necessary documents

The following documents are needed in case of a funeral:

-         medical certificate of cause of death
-         health insurance card or ID
-         retirement pension documents / documents about other benefits
-         certificates about the possession of a grave (if existing)

if unmarried:

-         birth certificate and/or entries from a family register
-         family register
-         identity card

if married:

-         birth certificate
-         marriage certificate (family register) and/or entries from a family register
-         identity card

 

if divorced:

-         birth certificate and/or entries from the family register
-         identity card
-         death certificate or medical certificate of death for the deceased partner

if widowed:

- birth certificate
- marriage certificate (family register) 
- identity card
- certificate of death or announcement of death for the deceased partner
